Product details
Protein is an essential nutrient needed in the diet. It is needed to stimulate muscle protein synthesis and contributes to muscle growth . It is recommended that athletes consume 1.2-1.7 g of protein per kg of body weight per day and this protein intake should be spread throughout the day.
Protein is made up of building blocks called amino acids . There are 20 amino acids in total, 9 of which are called essential amino acids. This means that they cannot be made in the body and need to be consumed through the diet. Three of these essential amino acids are known as branched-chain amino acids (BCAA’s) and these are leucine, isoleucine and valine.
The BCAA also contains potassium which contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system, normal muscle function and the maintenance of normal blood pressure.
Who can benefit from taking BCAA?
The BCAA supplement can be used by any athlete participating in strength and power sports such as throwing and sprinting. It may also be useful for those who train and compete in intermittent sports such as team and racket sports.
