Product details
After intensive training or competition, glycogen (stored sugar) in the muscles and liver is depleted and the muscles are fatigued. Muscle glycogen recovery is the primary focus during recovery after extreme (endurance) exercise. Carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after highly intensive and/or long-lasting physical exercise leading to muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle. The beneficial effect is obtained by consuming carbohydrates from all sources, with a total intake of 4 g per kg of body weight in doses, the first of which
is consumed within 4 hours and the last no later than 6 hours after highly intensive and/or long-lasting physical exercise resulting in muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle.
In addition, attention should also be paid to recovery of muscle function/contraction. Proteins contribute to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass. Carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after highly intensive and/or long-lasting physical exercise leading to muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle. Until recently, it was assumed that an acute intake of 10 to a maximum of 25 grams of protein after exercise was the optimal dose. However, recent research has shown that athletes who heavily load large muscle groups preferably consume higher amounts (up to 40 g) of protein immediately after exercise.
Whey protein is the highest quality protein on the market, absorbed faster than casein or soy, for example. It is naturally very rich in leucine and contains all essential amino acids in higher concentrations than plant-based protein sources.
PRO LINE Recovery* Shake, a blend of carbohydrates (±60 g), whey protein isolate (±30 g) and leucine (3 g), is formulated based on the latest scientific insights. In addition, this professional shake also contains 1.2 g of salt per serving to replenish electrolytes (salts) lost through sweat and to accelerate and optimize rehydration.
Who can benefit from PRO LINE Recovery* Shake?
- All athletes performing intensive training or ultra-long efforts
- All athletes after competition
- After intensive endurance training, intensive tempo training, efforts such as cyclosportive rides, marathon, triathlon, …
