Ibtisam Gardabou

When the alarm clock goes off in the morning, I always look forward to going to train. Exercise is the highlight of my day. As a former gymnast and current endurance athlete, I got involved in an Olympic project with an ambitious goal: to be the first Belgian to qualify for the Olympic Games in the modern pentathlon. Since then, every day has become even more meaningful.

My disciplines

  • Modern pentathlon & athletics -> KRC Gent Atletiek

Number of hours’ training per week

24 hours

"You don't have to be big to be great!"

My favourite Etixx products

Every day, I use the High Protein Shake between workouts. With so many training sessions on the programme, I need a lot of protein to recover quickly. Creatine Creapure is also part of my routine for muscle building in conjunction with strength training. You can always find an Energy Gel Raspberry in my sports bag for every endurance training session.

My greatest sporting achievements

  • Three-time Belgian OCR champion
  • Bronze medalist at the OCR World Championships (London)
  • Bronze medalist in the modern pentathlon OCR (Ankara)

My personal record

  • 1500m: 4’49
  • 3000m:10’32
  • 5000m:18’24
  • 10km: 38’56

Athletics

Athletics (All-Around)

I am an athlete who is not easily satisfied with a performance. I always want to do better than the previous race and keep improving my personal records. I like to learn quickly. Sometimes I try to imitate or learn a technique by watching other athletes. I am very motivated during training and I don't give up easily, but sometimes I dare to let my head hang down when things don't go as I had hoped. I am always open to humour and jokes on and off the slopes.

(Gravel) cycling

I'm Jeroen de Haas, born in 1972 and based in Rotterdam. Cycling is my greatest passion, and through my website WebHaaZ.nl, I love sharing stories from the road, gear reviews, and my personal adventures on the bike, on foot, and on skis. I've been a lifelong rider — I started cycling at the age of seven with R.W.C. Ahoy. In 2009, I returned to the sport and took on the challenge of Alpe d’HuZes to raise money for cancer research. Outside of sports, I work in specialized laboratory software and frequently travel across Europe. For me, authenticity always comes before sponsorships. My motto? “Quitting is never an option!”
