Janie De Naeyer

Athletics (Sprint)

Pressure is a privilege.

I am a Belgian sprinter specializing in the 100m and 200m, with the Olympic Games in LA 2028 as my biggest dream. My days revolve around speed training, strength work, competitions, and trying to find every hundredth of a second on the track.

Besides athletics, I absolutely love coffee, cozy breakfasts, discovering nice places, and enjoying the small moments in between training sessions. Thanks to my background as a midwife, I also have a strong interest in the female body, health, and performance. I enjoy combining elite sports with a positive and realistic perspective on life as an athlete.

My disciplines

Athletics – 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay with the Belgian national team.

Which club or organization are you affiliated with?

OEH & Antwerp racing team

Number of hours’ training per week

Around 22 hours per week.
This includes track sessions, strength training, mobility work, sprint technique, recovery, and competitions.

My greatest sporting achievements

  • 60m: 7.32
  • 100m: 11.44
  • 200m: 23.52

My greatest sporting achievements are representing Belgium internationally as a sprinter and being part of the Belgian national team. I am also proud of my continuous progress as an athlete, both individually and as part of the 4x100m relay team. Combining elite sports with building a platform where I inspire other women around health and performance is also a huge achievement for me.

Why are you happy to have become an Etixx ambassador?

Yes, absolutely.
I’ve had a very positive experience with the creatine and whey from Etixx. As a sprinter, strength, explosiveness, and recovery are extremely important, and creatine really makes a difference during intense training blocks and strength sessions. I mainly use the whey after training sessions or competitions to support my recovery and make sure I get enough protein on busy days. Both products fit very easily into my routine as an elite athlete.

Your #GiveItYourAll moment?

My biggest challenge is to continue proving myself internationally on the road to the major championships and keep building toward my ultimate goal: qualifying for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028. Every hundredth of a second matters in sprinting, so it will be an important period to take new steps forward, both physically and mentally.
